Modern Vintage Manchester Wedding at Rylands Farmhouse – Featuring Polaroids & Super 8 Films
Saturday 02 MAY 25 was a perfect day for a wedding at Rylands Farmhouse. We were lucky as the sun shone brightly, such a lovely warm and relaxed atmoshpore for the day. Guests arrived in colourful outfits that matched the joyful vibe of the day.
The couple, Amy and Oli, had a laid-back celebration full of fun moments. They embraced the theme of 'mates to bates' as they joined their lives together. Watching their story unfold was beautiful. They were so naturally lovely to each other and in the moment. (I kept saying please just carry on as you’re doing perfectly) It was clear they were friends first, having known each other for nearly eight years. They met through a mutual friend, which made the day feel even more special.
Amy looked stunning in her dress with a floral overlay. She wore striking leopard print shoes, which I was a massive fan of..Oli matched her style with a green velvet suit and a bee tie pin. Small bees were a lovely detail, echoing Amy's unique wedding ring and her necklace.
The bridesmaids added to the charm, wearing different shades of green, each dress unique but beautifully coordinated. All around were bursts of colourful flowers, arranged in a way that celebrated their perfect imperfections. Some flowers were a bit wonky, but that only added to the charm.
Guests wandered, taking pictures with the cameras supplied in the many baskets and enjoying the relaxed vibe. A basket of film cameras let everyone capture the day in their way. I loved seeing everyone so engaged with the cameras, especially the Super 8 film! (I cant wait to see this footage!) It was adorable to watch guests having fun while filming those moments.
Capturing their love was effortless. Their connection was genuine, making every photo feel natural. There was no need for posed shots; their affection shone through in every moment. I enjoyed working alongside Leah, who was my second shooter for the day and is my lovely bestie anyway. We had veggie pizzas and indulged in some jelly tots during a quiet moment. Which she was surprised to find she could also have as they are vegan.
The venue itself was stunning. The teepee added a unique touch, and the disco balls sparkled overhead and around the venue. I had the chance to connect with Becca from the events styling team. She created a lovely setup that felt intimate and inviting. The combination of the flowers and decor really added to the day.
A giant Colin cake brought smiles, and also nearly tears from Lewis the venue coordinator as he then had to cut up Colin into pieces. (Ha!) there was also a cute Connie cake nearby. It felt special to share these moments with the couple and their families.
One particular guest enjoyed the sun, sitting outside with his eyes closed and beer in hand. He seemed to soak in every bit of joy the day offered.
Overall, the day was a celebration of love and friendship, captured with a sense of modern romance and vintage flair. Everything from the sunshine to the flowers contributed to a feeling of joy. It was a Manchester wedding to remember, full of personality and warmth. Now let me show you a snippet of the photos below!!!!
